If you follow me on instagram then you may have seen me post a picture of this adorable little bow scarf.
I pinned this scarf to my pinterest account quite some time ago with the intention of one day knitting it. I found the tutorial on little inspiration and thought it was a) super cute and b) super easy. I am a self taught knitter that has not been in communication with my knitting needles in years. This scarf was the perfect test pattern to brush off my dusty knitting needles with. It is an easy knit to learn, knits up quickly and is cute.
What you’ll need for the scarf:
size 13 straight needles and some chunky yarn
cast on 13 stitches and knit about 21 inches in length. At this time you will start the button hole. Cast off at the 6th stitch for three stitches. Continue row. Next row pick up the 3 dropped stitches from previous row. Continue knitting for approx. 4 more inches. Bind off and weave all loose yarn in.
What you’ll need for the bow:
size 10 1/2 straight needles and chunky or regular yarn
cast on 16 stitches and knit until sample is about 6 inches long. Bind off and weave all loose yarn in. Gather into bow and wrap with loose yarn. Attach bow to opposite side of scarf from the button hole. Wrap scarf around neck and pull bow through button hole. Voila!
